Meet Lyndsay the Doula
Hello, I’m Lyndsay! I’m a Certified Birth Doula and the founder of Sublime Motherhood. As a proud military wife, I love working closely with military families and serving the local community here in Guam.
I have always had a strong connection to working with children. Growing up homeschooled, I gained early exposure to childcare through my mother's home-based daycare, and by the age of 12, I was babysitting regularly.
As I progressed in my career, I built on this foundation through hands-on experience in various settings, including a daycare center, Montessori school, respite care center, and a safe home for young, homeless single mothers. Each role deepened my passion for supporting children and families in meaningful ways.
However, my own journey into motherhood began with anxiety and a deep search for support. My first pregnancy was very challenging- I dealt with prenatal hyperemesis, breastfeeding difficulties, postpartum depression, anxiety, and marital issues while adjusting to my new life as a mother.
During my second pregnancy, I discovered the transformative role of birth doulas. In 2014, I took my first training with DONA International, seeking to better understand childbirth. From there, I fell in love with supporting new families. Experiencing firsthand how empowering birth and motherhood can be with the right support- even when things aren't perfect- was life-changing.
While birth photography wasn’t an early passion of mine, everything changed after my daughter’s home birth on Guam this year. Our wild birthing experience as a new family unit was everything I could have dreamed of, but I still felt something was missing. Looking back, I wished for a window into the room, to see my husband witnessing my labor, supporting me, and catching our daughter. The postpartum moments—cutting the cord, snuggling my newborn daughter—would have been priceless to capture.
Now, my mission is to offer families this very gift: capturing their birth experiences while providing compassionate, intuitive support. Your memories of your baby's birth are invaluable, and each time I attend a birth, I hold that truth close to my heart.
As a doula, I’ve been described as intuitively soothing, comforting, and a strong advocate when needed. My approach in the birth space transitions naturally into a quiet, seamless documentation of your birth process and the precious moments that follow.
My birth philosophy is simple: it's your birth philosophy. I am committed to respecting your family's experience and focusing on what matters most to you. My goal is to reduce fear and anxiety, minimize pain where possible, and offer physical and emotional comfort, ensuring you feel confident and supported—whatever your birth plans may be.
When I'm not talking about birth, babies, or placentas, you can find me down at Tarague Beach, curled up with a good book, tending our patio garden, or simply spending time with my little family enjoying the island pace of life.
